From big data to knowledge

In 2012, Dr Roberto Trotta discovered that the ‘statistical tools’ he had developed to interpret huge volumes of data about the cosmos from probes, telescopes and the large hadron collider could also be used to benefit more organisations.

Through Imperial Consultants, he has worked on complex data driven problems in various sectors including energy, law, construction and transportation. His advanced statistical methodology has also help identify the fraudulent credit card transactions from the millions that are genuine for the financial sector.

Using his expertise, Dr Trotta can interpret big data, allowing organisations to identify the knowledge they need from it.
