Professor Derek Bell, Department of Medicine, provided expertise for a collaborative project between NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government to improve efficiency and quality in the Scottish health service.
Based on his knowledge in acute medicine and experience working for governmental organisations and the NHS, Professor Bell designed and implemented a strategy to analyse health service operational data to identify performance issues and opportunities.
