INTARESE is an ambitious European Union funded project with partners from over 30 institutions and 14 countries. It aims to provide decision makers with the tools needed to assess the impact of environmental policies on health.
The project was funded by the EU to support the implementation of the European Environment and Health Action Plan. Policies in many areas, such as transport, waste management and water, are developed often without access to the relevant information to make an informed decision on the health consequences of them.
INTARESE is developing a methodology for integrated assessments, to ensure as many factors as possible are considered when developing policies. The end goal is an online toolbox that people can use to assess the environmental and health consequences of decisions.
Such a large-scale project with members from so many countries requires intense project management. Imperial Consultants was involved with INTARESE from the outset, as a separate project member focused solely on project management and dissemination.
Our experienced team worked closely with the lead investigators from Imperial, handling the proposal development and contract negotiations in the initial project stages.
Running the 5-year project required financial, administrative and communications expertise. Imperial Consultants were responsible for organising project meetings, disseminating the findings, co-ordinating the annual reports and building the dedicated project website.
