Consultancy case study: DFID Malawi Project

Consultancy case study: DFID Malawi Project

The objective of this project is to assess the impact and implementation of the Government of Malawi agricultural inputs subsidy and the programme of support at the national level and differential impact on households at the local level.

This project was awarded through tender, therefore our initial role was to draft and submit the tender proposal in collaboration with the lead academic.  We worked together to derive an appropriate budget for the work, whilst in parallel undertaking any other commercial requirements, the consultant therefore being able to focus on the development of the research proposal.

Upon successful award of the tender, we reviewed the contractual documents and arranged execution of these in a timely manner.  This project required the involvement of a number of other organisations, therefore we arranged subcontracts for all other parties, ensuring each party had a clear work schedule and budget to follow for the duration of the work.

Once the project was underway we provided management of all financial aspects, this included budgetary control, invoicing to DFID, payment to subcontractors and payment to our consultants (including advance payments on expenses and fee payments in arrears).

All contractual, financial and other commercial enquiries are directed to us throughout the duration of the project, which we communicate to the lead academic and other parties as appropriate.
