Space magnetometer laboratory

The space magnetometer laboratory facilities are based in Staffordshire in a magnetically quiet environment. They offer electronics design, assembly and testing, quality assurance and a clean room.

The laboratory is part of the Department of Physics at Imperial, and users of its facilities have access to world-class expertise in space and atmospheric physics.

The dedicated team at the laboratory design and build magnetometers as well as data processing units and power converters. They also support and operate instruments in various space missions such as Cluster, Rosetta and Venus Express.

Access to state-of-the-art expertise in digital magnetometers and magnetic field sensor arrays is available through Imperial's space magnetometer laboratory.
