Rector's awards for Imperial Consultants staff

30 Oct 2008 Imperial Consultants staff were among those presented with a Rector's award on the 28th October 2008.

The annual Imperial College Rector’s awards were announced on 28th October. The Energy Futures Lab, managed by Imperial Consultants, won the public engagement award and Betty Yue won the Equality and Diversity award.

Energy Futures Lab

The Public Engagement award went to Professor Nigel Brandon from the Energy Futures Lab for the outreach program started last year by Peter Evans and Victoria Harding.

Victoria and Peter have worked to develop and run a number of activities that inform and educate secondary school children about the major energy issues for the 21st Century.

Betty Yue

Betty won the Equality and Diversity award alongside Dr Mark Richards and Althea Hartley-Forbes for her contribution to Imperial as One.

Imperial as One was set up in 2005 to promote diversity and equality across Imperial College. Betty’s a dedicated member who acts as the Liaison officer for Chinese students and staff. She also organises events such as the Student Forum in January, an afternoon of talks and discussions around recruitment and CVs aimed specifically at Black and Minority Ethnic students.
