Structural Engineering

Imperial hosts the leading civil engineering research department in the UK. The Department has a strong industrial focus, with one of its objectives being to provide state-of-the-art advice to industry.

Its researchers have a thorough knowledge of using the fundamental theories of systems to solve engineering problems. Access to the latest research and extensive testing facilities enable them to integrate new theories and experimental methods into those solutions.

Many consultants are experienced expert witnesses, providing thorough failure analyses and testimonies in court.
