The topic of security is becoming increasingly technological, with all scientific disciplines engaged in researching and developing new techniques.

Across Imperial there are researchers who specialise in all aspects of security. The Institute for Security Science and Technology provides a focus for this research, encouraging collaboration between engineers, scientists and medics.

The Institute’s research comes from the areas of physics, engineering, biomedical and computer science. As well as analysing present and future threats to safety and security, it considers how science and technology is being used to tackle these threats and the areas for potential technological development.
