Policy

Scientific knowledge underpins and informs many national and international policy decisions. Academics at Imperial are available to act as consultants in most policy areas.

In addition to the general scientific and medical knowledge across the College, there are a number of groups dedicated to specific aspects of policy.

The Centre for Environmental Policy is dedicated to research that will have a global impact on energy and environmental security policy, the management of environmental quality and sustainable transitions in environmental governance.

The College’s four flagship institutes also aim to inform decision makers and policy. These are the Grantham Institute for Climate Change, the Energy Futures Lab, the Institute for Security Science and Technology and the Institute for Global Health.

In addition, Imperial Consultants provide project management services to a number of large European projects that are developing tools and processes for policy assessments, particularly in the areas of water and health.
